Donna J. Edmonds, Chairperson Ms. Edmonds has over 30 years experience in both the provider and the industry side of the healthcare business. Her primary focus has been in the introduction, management and commercialization of new and revolutionary technologies, primarily in critical care areas for patient care. She was Hospital Administrator (Director of Nursing) and General Manager of a specialty physician group prior to her recruitment to industry. Her industry experience includes eight years with Baxter International where she held positions in Business Development, Sales and Marketing. She initiated or participated in several start-ups, and took one company public. In addition, she was the Senior Vice President, Market and Business Development for the Cardiovascular Strategic Business Unit of Inverness Medical Innovations, a public company with over $500 million in revenues.
Paul Rocheleau, Chairman of VLSI Paul Rocheleau brings a broad range of business leadership experience with small technology companies and global multi-national corporations coupled with extensive involvement with the financial markets, M&A activity and capital market transactions. Mr. Rocheleau was the CFO of Albemarle Corporation (2002-2005) and CEO of Albright and Wilson plc (1996-2000), both complex global public corporations. In these positions he developed expertise in public equity offerings, recapitalizations, joint venture formation and acquisitions, often creating the strategic objective and negotiating transactions in complex circumstances. As a Managing Partner at Cary Street Partners, Mr. Rocheleau provided advisory services for a range of privately-held businesses from technology start-ups to industrial and service companies. Mr. Rocheleau is currently an Advisory Board member to Apex Systems ($400 million IT staffing) and NanoChemonics ($7 million nanoparticle manufacturer). Mr. Rocheleau is also a Founding Trustee of the VCU School of Engineering, where he is President of the $90 million Foundation. Mr. Rocheleau is a chemical engineering graduate of the University of Delaware and received a MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business where he was an Abbott Scholar.
Eli Sahar, Ph.D., Co-Founder and CEO Dr. Sahar holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science, and spent fifteen years conducting research and development of diagnostic methodologies at the Harvard Medical School and at Tel Aviv University. He co-founded ComBact Ltd., a company that developed rapid, fully automated systems for microbiological testing of urine, blood and other body fluids. Dr. Sahar has extensive experience in managing large, multidisciplinary research and development programs and brings an in-depth understanding of the clinical diagnostic market.
Yehuda Zisapel, EE.MSc., MBA Mr. Zisapel holds a M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Technion (Haifa, Israel), an MBA from Tel-Aviv University (Israel), and Doctor Honoris Causa from the Technion (Israel). He is the founder and director of the RAD Group, a holding that comprises 22 high-tech companies in computer communication technologies, six of which are publicly held and traded on the NASDAQ, and the chairman of RAD BioMed accelerator.
David Zigdon, CPA Mr. Zigdon has over 20 years experience as a senior manager with a background in the fields of finance, business development and operations. He holds an L.L.M in Law from Bar Ilan University, and a B.A. in Economics and Accounting from Bar Ilan University. With extensive experience in public companies sales cycles of over NIS 300 million traded on the Tel Aviv and New York money manager he is well versed in building, managing, negotiating and closing complex transactions.
