The round was led by Richmond-based, Virginia Life Science Investments, LLC. The investment round included funds from existing investors and Alfred Tauber MD of the Lazlow Tauber Foundation. The company will also present preliminary data on their product (s) being developed to support the diagnosis, monitoring and rule out of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) at the American Association of Immunology (AAI) and the International Congress of Immunology (ICI) These data were developed in conjunction with academic centers in both the US and Israel. Transplant continues to be a market the company is evaluating in conjunction with a major pharmaceutical company with products in this market. All products will be supported and available through Veracis™, the company’s service laboratory located on the campus of the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore Maryland.”

This represents the next step in the expansion of activity via their VERACIS™ subsidiary as the company furthers the development of clinical products licensed by Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine investigators Jennifer Van Eyk, Ph.D., and Allen Everett, M.D. The license provides access to novel biomarkers, which can pave the way to the development of a suite of tests for acute brain injury. The VERACIS Laboratory, a wholly owned subsidiary of ImmunArray USA, will provide testing services under CLIA and will also provide support to pharmaceutical projects and product development. The proteomics expertise and licensing capability resident in this relationship will allow for the development of further complimentary diagnostic products, with proprietary new antigens.
